Forest-Falcons
The secretive forest-falcons and Laughing Falcon are found in tropical forests. They have
short wings, a long tail, and long legs. These falcons do not have the characteristic
notch on each side of the beak, but the Laughing Falcon has a bony peg in its
nostril, which is absent in forest-falcons. Forest-falcons have a facial disc and use their
sense of hearing to help locate prey. The Laughing Falcon is a “snake-eating falcon”
that has thick hexagonal scales on its lower legs to protect it from snakebites.
Further information is not available for this group at this time.
