Conferences

The Velma Morrison Interpretive Center at the World Center for Birds of Prey in Boise, Idaho, has a daily schedule of live bird demonstrations, tours and activities. Twice daily, visitors also may tour the Archives of Falconry.

Throughout the year, many special events are held at the interpretive center, such as International Migratory Bird Day, Vulture Awareness Day, and outdoor flight demonstrations. Several weekends are set aside for families and for Boy Scouts to enjoy activities geared especially for them.

The Peregrine Fund hosts international conferences for researchers, biologists and other conservationists on current topics of the day. In 2008, a conference was held on the effects of lead in spent ammunition on wildlife and humans. In 2010, experts gathered in Boise, Idaho, to talk about how climate change may be affecting Gyrfalcons and other wildlife in the Arctic.

We also participate in conferences focusing on birds of prey in other countries around the world.

Daily Events at The Archives of Falconry

Twice daily, public tours of The Archives of Falconry are offered as part of the World Center for Birds of Prey experience. These tours begin in The Velma Morrison Interpretive Center.
