Images of Nature Event to Benefit The Peregrine Fund

24 August 2005
Images of Nature Gallery in Sun Valley, Idaho will be hosting a presentation and discussion with Trish Nixon, a raptor specialist from The Peregrine Fund on Saturday, 27 August, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. The Peregrine Fund is a non-profit conservation organization working worldwide to conserve populations of birds of prey. In 1984, The Peregrine Fund consolidated facilities from Colorado and New York and constructed the World Center for Birds of Prey in Boise, Idaho. The Peregrine Fund has now worked in more than 55 countries with 87 raptor species.

Just 15 minutes from downtown Boise on South Cole Road, The Peregrine Fund features a variety of eagles, hawks, falcons, and owls on display including the California Condor, Harpy Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, and Bateleur Eagle. Complete with interactive displays, multimedia shows, and live bird presentations, the facility provides visitors an insight to the world of birds of prey and the scientific work The Peregrine Fund is doing to conserve birds of prey around the world.

On Saturday, 27 August, Trish will be bringing a Golden Eagle and Peregrine Falcon to use in her discussion. She will be talking about the importance of birds of prey to the multitude of ecosystems in which they exist, the importance of education and conservation of these wonderful birds, and more about how we can all help support foundations like The Peregrine Fund.

Images of Nature will be donating a Thomas Mangelsen image for an auction to raise money for this fantastic organization. The Peregrine Fund will be auctioning off this image, starting the evening of 27 August and continuing at their location in Boise, Idaho and on their website (www.peregrinefund.org). Even if you cannot attend this educational event, please visit the website to find out more information about how you can bid on this image and other ways to contribute to The Peregrine Fund.
