Big Bird, Little Bird   A graphing activity that shows the relationship of size of a bird of prey to number of eggs per clutch, life span, wing span, weight, and weeks to fledge.

Birds of Prey Nametag Activity  Need a nametag for your group’s visit to The Peregrine Fund’s World Center for Birds of Prey?  Download and print these birds of prey nametags.  Suggested instructions are on page one of the activity.

Rainforest Bag Activity  Our mysterious rainforest bag has 20 some items that relate to tropical rain forests.  The fun challenge of this activity is to determine how each item relates to a rainforest.

Awesome Adaptations  This is an information sheet (based on our Wise As An Owl Booklet) that details many important adaptations related to birds of prey.

Beaks  This activity challenges the participant to match an image of a beak with the correct bird.  The activity also has the participant decide the kind of food each bird eats.

Birds of Prey Analogies  This is a series of simple hands-on activities to help participants understand bird of prey adaptations.

Birds of Prey Biome, Niche, Prey Scavenger Hunt  Teachers can have their students hunt for birds of prey in our Visitor Center that occupy a certain biome or niche or eat certain kinds of prey.

Carrying Capacity  This activity explores the concept of "carrying capacity."

City Wildlife  Teachers might want to review our City Wildlife activity to see the amazing number of birds of prey that live near or in cities in the Treasure Valley.  We can modify this activity to suit grade levels 2 – 6.

Falcon Math This activity relates the incredible migration of a type of Peregrine Falcon to math and geography using Google Earth.

Feet  This activity challenges the participant to match an image of a foot with the correct bird.

Gambling for Survival  This activity explores the challenges birds of prey face when hunting for prey.

Correlations with the Idaho State Science Achievement Standards (PDF File)

Las Aves Rapaces is an environmental education guide for teachers created by The Neotropical Environmental Education Program of Fondo Peregrino in Panama . The guide is in Spanish and provides information on the biology and conservation of raptors, and includes 12 suggested activities for teachers to use with their students in the classroom.
